I
began my love affair with coffee in Africa, the birthplace
of coffee. While
studying coffee, I saw hardworking, dedicated people in
the field, who make waking up in the morning to our cup of
coffee a most enjoyable experience.
I
discovered the art of coffee, seed to cup, from three old
men in Kenya. They
taught me all they knew about the growing of coffee beans,
its preparation, sorting, washing, drying and picking.
Since then, I have been seeking the finest Arabica
beans from all the growing regions of the world.
In
1981 I became involved in the Fair Trade Organic movement
while growing and exporting coffee in Africa.
Worldwide 250 million people are involved in the
growing of the coffee.
It is essential that a link be made between the
crop, the growers and the consumer.

Peoples
Organic Coffee takes this alternative approach to coffee
because we are dedicated to supporting the sustainability
of the earth and human rights.
Our objective is to find a balance in the standard
of living between present and future generations, and with
the consumption of the rich, relative to that of the poor. Through third party auditing you are assured that
the growers received a fair and just compensation for
their labors.
We
are dedicated to our craft, and to being responsible world
citizens. We
thank you for supporting our work with the purchase of our
artisan roasted coffee beans, and hope you notice the
superior tasted and unsurpassed freshness that comes from
roasting is small batches.
We roast in small batches with care and purpose to
bring out the complex characteristic tones and richness of
each coffee bean, as my mentors in Africa did so long
ago…where my coffee journey began.
